KEPO Solar Training Workshop ☀️📅 July 4 & 5. 9am – 5pm.📍 Golden Age Club To sign up, please use this link: forms.gle/FEWcHb4vEBR3cqzL8 The Kahnawà:ke Environment Protection Office is organizing a workshop in collaboration with the First Nations of Quebec and Labrador Sustainable Development Institute (FNQLSDI) for Kahnawákeró:non interested in installing solar panels for their energy needs. This will be a two-day in-person workshop, with lunch provided for participants. We kindly ask that only those who can attend both days sign up to get the full training provided in the workshop. Space is limited! Do you own a camp, cabin or RV, and you’d like to know more about off-grid solar energy? In this two-day training, we will learn about:• Basics of electricity• Knowing your energy consumption and being energy efficient• Sizing a solar system• Technologies, components and where to buy them• Cabling, fuses and connectors• Troubleshooting and maintenance• Advanced tricks in energy efficiency• Placement and mounting of photovoltaic panelsThis will be a two-day in-person workshop, where we will assemble, test and (hopefully) understand a small 12 V solar power system, capable of lighting a cabin and charge your cell phone. We will also talk about more powerful solar systems, the economics and where the limits of this technologies are at the moment.
